Have you ever wondered how you can protect your mind from outside negative forces?

Let's face it - negativity, complaining, and tabloid gossip sells. From mainstream media dumping nonsense everywhere to the never ending list of reality shows that thrive on conflict and drama, all the way down to your newsfeed on social media. Heck, maybe you even have a few friends and relatives that fit the "Negative Nancy" or "Debbie Downer" moniker.

Take a moment to consider your social environment. Really think about the people you surround yourself with in "real" life as well as those you follow on social media. Now read the following three questions and answer truthfully.

- Do you see a lot of negativity from those around you and it's affecting you by making you sad or disappointed?
- Are people around you fearful and they're dumping this weight on you?
- Do you feel anxious when you think about current social situations and what's going on in the world?
